Hey kids, it's time once again for a word from our go-to photog, Meggan Haller. Meggan and her husband Jeff, the owners of Keyhole Photo, serve up documentary-style photography and are some of our favorite people to boot. Want more? Check out their blog, look for a daily dose of awesome.
I think great photography means something different to each person. But if you think about it, all photographs, good and bad, have one thing in common: they help us understand our world. Each picture is a sentence in a paragraph in the long story of life on Earth. And our Earth is pretty staggering, really. That's what's cool about Earth as Art Photo Tiles ($44). They are exactly what they claim to be: images of earth so stunning that they make great art. Definitely a Why didn't I think of that? kind of thing. The photos were captured by ASTER: Advanced Spaceborne Thermal Emission and Reflection Radiometer, an imaging instrument flying on the Terra Satellite since 1999, and reproduced with permission on a 12x12-inch square, glossy photo tile with an easel back for hanging on the wall or displaying upright on a table.
