The East Asian art of sumi-e, or wash painting, decorates this beautiful little book. Said to be the first expressionist art form, sumi-e calligraphy and painting is meant to capture the soul of its subject. The Sumi Ink Club chose this free flowing method to be the basis of its collaborative drawing collective. Founded in 2005 by Sarah Anderson and Luke Fischbeck, this group hopes to fortify social interactions with open ended creative outlets.
