Introducing Ch-Ch-Ch-Chocolate Monday!!

Chocolate, chocolate everywhere,
On my face and in my hair.
In my ears and up my nose,
Stuck on all my favourite clothes.

I love chocolate, can you tell?
Sometimes I don't feel so well!
I even see it when I sleep,
I count chocolates instead of sheep.
~Jake Randall

It's true that woman cannot live by chocolate alone, although goodness knows we've tried. But, nevertheless, we wanted to devote a day to one of God's most perfect creations: the humble cacao bean and all the wonderful things people have created with it. Without further ado, we bring you Ch-Ch-Chocolate Monday... 'cause everyone needs a divine little pick-me-up at the start of the work week! Enjoy!! (And yes, it was a serious sacrifice to our blood sugar levels and waistlines, but it was worth it. Oh, so worth it. If you'll excuse us, we're off to go work out.)

Why does it feel like Outblush is just spam posting content that isn't that interesting these days? Milk? Chocolate golfballs? A beer belt?

I can understand if sponsorship drives some of these choices, everyone has to make their pocket change somehow. Regardless, there haven't been very many sterling 'finds' posted here in between the abundant amount of overly expensive bag dresses and spam chocolate.

Did we lose one of the original writers? Bring back the old 'Blush.

Well, Disappointed Deborah, I'm sad for you. And on Chocolate Monday, that ain't no joke.

When it comes to how we choose what to post, whether we get sponsorships or ad dollars or even just samples, we only post the stuff that we really love or we really want. And since we're just regular guys and gals, sometimes that means it's stuff that our readers aren't into.

We will, however, redouble our efforts to bring you the stupidly kick-ass radical "sterling finds" that you've come to expect. ...I don't suppose you'd want to show us what we're missing by sending us a few "sterling finds" of your own, would you?

Oh, but back to Chocolate Monday, this was just because we love chocolate. No sponsorships, no cash being thrown our way, not even any chocolate picnics in a lovely meadow with truffles served to us by butterflies and male models. Because that's not realistic...

I have to agree with Deborah. I hate to criticize but maybe one smashingly amazing chocolate post would be more effective than 20 in a day.

Okay, WTF people? I loved Chocolate Day! I liked that they focused on small businesses that do interesting stuff with chocolate, personally. This is an opinion site. I don't love everything thats posted, sure, but that's the beauty of the internet. If I don't like it, I can go somewhere else. And so can you.

Kiko you are right, if we don't like it we can go somewhere else. So per your suggestion, I just won't come to the site on Mondays. No biggie. But this is the comments section.

Wow, we didn't mean to stir up controversy! I mean, chocolate is our great peacemaker!

Anyway, to Kiko and all you other readers who commented on individual posts, thanks for sticking up for us! But y'all don't have to worry, or not come to the site on Mondays; this was just a one-time thing.

Sometimes we just get a hankerin for some good chocolate or cosmetics or lovin' or whatnot, and then we trade ideas and suddenly we have 30 products our team JUST HAS to post. That's how theme days like Ch-Ch-Ch-Chocolate Monday and Get Freaky Friday come about. It's totally organic, and meant to get you all into the spirit with us.

So we hope that you'll indulge us A LITTLE, and if you have suggestions, by all means, let us know!!!

I appreciate the response to the comment and understand your chocolate craze ( who wouldn't?). I simply feel that some of the content may be a little more repetitive and less thoughtful than I remember it being in the past.

I love this blog for the really unusual finds that I don't see elsewhere and I'm just hoping that sponsorship ( which is a kickass thing, I don't begrudge you making money from doing something that you hopefully love ) and time won't change that.

As for being sent elsewhere if I don't like the content... It's true that there are many places I could peruse. However I personally would not waste time commenting and do just that if I thought the content had gone to the hounds. Hopefully feedback is beneficial for everyone involved even if it is not all sunshine and kittens all the time.

Some stellar finds since choco-day!

Deborah, your feedback is much appreciated and taken seriously (ok, as serious as we can get...) I do have to say, OB is a work in progress, and we DO have tons o' fun running it.

We try to keep it spontaneous and not too dried up, if that makes sense, so sometimes we need that kick in the pants when we're running low on motivation.

Thanks again for sticking with us, and let us know what you think in the coming weeks and months!
