If you've ever had your purse get soaked in the rain, you know the aggravation of damp cards and papers (especially important ones), ballpoint ink everywhere, and the finish never quite being the same. As you may have guessed, we're recommending this project pouch ($12) from Fons & Porter for reasons that have nothing to do with quilting! Stash it in your car or your desk and, in case of a downpour, plunk your real bag into it. It's made of heavy-duty vinyl with a zipper, so you ought to be able to keep your things safe and dry. You may not be the plastic tote bag kind of fashionista, but using your umbrella or your coat to protect your purse instead of yourself will pretty much make you a fashion victim instead. Not good.
