Ok, we'll admit that these Pawz Dog Boots ($13) were almost a Doubtblush. Come on, rubber booties for dogs? But then we saw a gray in the whiskers pooch wearing them and just had to ask his owner what the heck was up with the disposable doggy shoes? She explained that he slipped on wood floors in his old age, and upon further investigation, we found out that these work really well for the elderly canine crew. The non-slip material gives dogs a better grip on slippery surfaces and in turn helps their hips and backs. Now that is something we can stand behind, even if they do look like someone just stuck balloons on their dogs feet.

They also work really well for dogs that have grass and pollen allergies in the spring and summer and to protect their paws from salt during the winter that can cause contact burns!
