Anyone who owns a cat knows that given the choice between a scratching post and a cardboard box, the cat will always choose the box. Because it is not meant for them. The Kittypod ($320) by Elizabeth Paige Smith resembles a large cauldron or kettledrum, but is actually a egg-shaped half pod made of recycled corrugated cardboard. It's soft and durable, and your cats will want to both scratch it and sleep in it. A maple pedestal base means it'll stand up to their best acrobatic efforts, too.
