Fur Butter (Or Fur Worse)

Fur Butter (Or Fur Worse) Ultra-Rich Deep Conditioning Treatment ($19) from HappyTails Canine Spa Line is a perfect way to pamper your pup. We can't resist anything with a hilarious name, especially when it leaves our dogs' coats silky, soft, and smelling of rosemary and peppermint. As if we needed any more reasons to snuzzle them!

Doubtful

Of the ingredients listed in that product, I can see three straight off that are toxic to both dogs and cats. Here's what the ASPCA has to say about them:

Peppermint: Oils such as peppermint can cause oral, skin and gastrointestinal irritation—if swallowed in large quantities, central nervous system depression may occur as well.

Aloe: Vomiting, depression, diarrhea, anorexia, tremors, change in urine color.

Chamomile: Contact dermatitis, vomiting, diarrhea, anorexia, allergic reactions. Long term use can lead to bleeding tendencies.

Granted, in very small amounts it might be fine, but repeatedly applying these things to your pets coat seems irresponsible.

My cat and I had a tangle with peppermint and it wasn't pretty. Blood loss. Dehydration. Inability to eat. It blows my mind how many internet pages suggest peppermint oil for bathing or scenting your cat.
