There's almost no getting around wires peeping out from behind tables and dressers. We try not to cringe every time we see those ugly white (or, heaven forbid, orange) extension cords trailing along our baseboards, but we can't help hating their ugliness. But Hallelujah, Best Made Company finally tackled the fugliness and created their own Cloth Extension Cords ($38). Their black cloth-covered cord rocks a vintage appeal that is much more appreciated in our cramped apartment than is the kinked extension we picked up at the hardware store when we first moved in.

I just want to say that anyone who's even slightly handy and likes DIY can make this themselves for a fraction of the cost of buying this cord. You can buy cloth covered wire online, and the plugs are cheap and REALLY easy to install yourself.

Ooh, I'll have to try that! I need a little cord for my craft area! Thanks for the tip!
