Kids today are all about Justin Bieber and the Jonas Brothers, but us kids of the 80's and 90's had real boy band fandom down. We slept on NKOTB sheets. We drew Nick Carter's face on our jeans in 6th period math class. We knew each boy's birthday, favorite foods, and ideal woman characteristics and could've spouted them in reverse alphabetical order, blindfolded. And the news that The Backstreet Boys and New Kids on the Block are thisclose to signing a deal to tour together just about made us pee our pants in excitement. Sure, we've got markedly more mature taste in music now, but there's just something about white boys with matchy-matchy outfits and perfect hair dancing to a synthesizer beat that just... Yowza.
So, ladies, dig out all that memorabilia stuffed into a box in your parents' attics. We're going straight home after work to dig out our Backstreet Boys: All Access DVD ($12) and New Kids on the Block: The New Kid in the Class VHS tape ($30). 'Cause, you know, we've gotta brush up on our trivia in order to create just the right posters to wave frantically at the shows.

I am so "cheesing" when I read this. Just a little bit of nostalgia, I guess. Who didn't love New Kids on the Block?!?!?
