Best of Faces

Before Rod Stewart's disco crooning of Do Ya Think I'm Sexy, he did a brief run in a band called The Faces with Ron Wood, of Rolling Stone origin. Even though they weren't around for very long, they had a ton of hits like "Stay With Me" & "Had Me a Real Good Time". The Best of Faces: Good Boys When They're Asleep ($11) brings together 19 of their best tracks and is an oldie, but still a goodie.

FYI, Ronnie was a Face long before he was a Stone. In fact, it wasn't until the Faces broke up that he was really allowed to become a full-fledged Rolling Stone.

You're correct, just didn't know if everyone would know who ol' Ronnie was without the Stones reference, should have said Rolling Stone fame!

For another dose of absolutely spine-tinglingly pure rock and roll, Faces-style, check "A Nod is as Good as a Wink . . . To a Blind Horse." I was checking it out at loud volume one Saturday afternoon, and when I told my wife that the singer was actually Rod Stewart, she was amazed that -- in her words -- "He didn't always suck."
