Jenny Lewis, the satin-tongued singing sensation behind Rilo Kiley, is back with her sophomore album, Acid Tongue ($10). This is chick rock that defies being chick rock, and if you don't know what we mean, you will once you listen to Lewis. Recorded entirely in analogue, these warm, sweeping songs get to the meat of songwriting with poignant lyrics, surprising bluesy chords, and kick ass guest appearances (Elvis Costello, anyone?) Standout tracks include "Trying My Best to Love You," "Pretty Bird," and the title track "Acid Tongue."
