Sheryl Crow is just... effortlessly cool. We don't know how she does it, but her songs always seem so off the cuff and yet perfectly put together. Her latest studio album, 100 Miles From Memphis ($10), is summer personified. Jazz-inflected pieces like "Our Love Is Fading" mix with the poppy, bright single, "Summer Day" and ballads like "Stop" for a just-right blend of up and down, fast and slow. Don't miss the bluesy title track, either... Smoother than a glass of whiskey on the rocks.
