We can't imagine that you've missed the buzz on one of LEGO's latest set, the Research Institute ($20). Designed by Ellen Kooijman, a geoscientist, the set snaps together to create three female scientists - a paleontologist, an astronomer and a chemist - and their labs. A far cry from most of LEGO's usual fare marketed toward girls, this one encourages girls to build, create, and explore their interest in STEM-related fields. It's also a good reminder for the world at large that girls are interested in much more than pink, plastic, passive toys!
