Valentine's Day: it strikes fear into the hearts of kids with crushes and married-fifty-years types alike. Why? It's just a day... Okay, a day fraught with overblown expectations and way too many stereotypes. That's why, this year, we're presenting gift ideas that will really mean something to the recipient and show them that you appreciate them for them. Over the next few weeks, we'll be suggesting gifts for the special someone in your life, whether they're the hunkamunk coworker you lust over from afar, your BFF, your new sweetie pie, or the sweet schmuck you've lived with for three years.
Best Girlfriend: Show your best gal pal just how much you truly appreciate her and value her friendship this Valentine's Day. After all, this is the gal who's always there for you....through the good and bad! She's your shoulder to cry on when that goofball breaks your heart, your voice of reason when you aren't thinking logically, your cheerleader through life, and so much more!
Dream Big: You so appreciate everything that she does for you...including the nights she holds your hair back while you pray to the porcelain gods. With that being said, she deserves only the best....very best. The La Mer Miraculous Beginnings Gel Collection ($340) would be an amazing gift for her. This introductory-sized set of La Mer's signature smears, serums and such is designed to tone, tighten and brighten your complexion while synergistically upping skin's suppleness. It's the cream of the crop, the cat's meow, etc.....you get the point, right? We promise she will absolutely love it, cherish it, and thank her lucky stars for such a fab friend!
Doable: So you guys have been best friends since the beginning of time....and you probably wore those best friend half heart pendants as little girls, right? The good news is that they've been updated to pretty pieces of jewelry. The Friends Forever Necklace ($60) is a polished sterling silver piece that features a scripted quote curving its way along a circular path that reads, "A friend is someone who knows the song in your heart and can sing it back to you when you have forgotten the words." She's definitely the sentimental type that would truly appreciate and adore this token of your affection and gratitude.
