We think that the researchers who've spent their time looking for the mathematical basis of beauty might want to move on to the mathematical basis of cute, because this little Christmas ornament ($4) has got it down. It's a little red piece of wood on a string, but it's also one of the most adorable things we've seen in a while. In its minimalist way, it depicts the traditional Swedish Christmas goat, the julbok (one of quite a few very cute patterns available on the same site). To see a much bigger one, you can visit the city of Gävle - maybe. Seems that certain jerks keep burning the sculpture down.

Minor typo, it's called "julbock" :)

Not according to the Associated Press. : ) Both spellings seem to be in fairly common use.
