We're pretty sweet on these Modern Himmeli Ornaments ($39 / set of 8). Made of plastic straw and cotton string, these geometric pieces are modeled after a Finnish tradition where much larger straw arrangements hang from ceilings. We could see how that would be even prettier than our Christmas tree... craft time.
