We all end up attending a frabjillion holiday parties, and want to look like the belle of the ball at each one. We've also all got to-gift lists as long as our arm. Budget-wise, those two statements don't always go hand-in-hand, so each of us OB editors have come up with a complete head-to-toe holiday party look for different types of parties for $150 or less. That way, you'll look like the special snowflake you are, while still having a little cash left over to buy Great Aunt Mildred that bath powder set she's been dropping hints about.
It's your family. Relax! You want to look nice, but you also want to be comfortable and be able to sit on the floor with your toddler without flashing your in-laws. Throw on a cute dress with leggings and comfy shoes. If it's cold, add a cardigan and a cozy scarf. If you're going to help with cooking when you get there, you might also want to add an apron to protect your dress from latke spatter at Hanukkah, but that's not included in the look because we ran out of gelt. If you have some extra cash, buy this excellent Hanukkah apron.
Here, Pear, and Everywhere Dress ($48) (out of stock - try the My Designer Friend dress)
Ciao Bella faux leather 'Moxie' loafers ($34)
Merona Women's Lounge Leggings ($13)
Croft & Barrow Jacquard Open-Front Cardigan ($35)
Forever 21 Lacquered Leaf Earrings ($4)
The original scarf is also sold out, but this Apt. 9 Ruched Chevron Striped Scarf ($17) is comparable.
Found of You here: Rather than find you the perfect LBD, look to me for the perfect accessories! As an accessorizing whiz, I can style your "What do I wear with it?!" clothing, dig up awesome maternity and nursing clothes (I'm a Mommy!), and make your tootsies look perfect in fabulous flats (or pumps, or sandals). Oh, and if you need to give someone (ME!!) a gift, I say buy 'em food and books, and I'd love to help you find just the right stuff.
