DIY Halloween Costumes: Michelle Obama
Still haven't figured out what to dress up as for Halloween, and not into the "Slutty [fill-in-the-blank]" costume genre? Over the next few days, we'll be bringing you cheap DIY costumes based on current political candidates - seeing as how the forthcoming midterm elections are the only thing on the news these days - and other public figures.
Michele Obama is like Jackie O: Her style is endlessly copied, and effortlessly chic. She often showcases her famously toned arms in brightly colored sleeveless shift dresses, paired with statement bib necklaces and very high heels. Find a bright shift dress at a thrift store, add a statement necklace, your highest stilettos, an Obama campaign pin, and a sleek bobbed wig if your hair isn't already that length. If you can convince a couple of guy friends to wear suits & sunglasses to go as your Secret Service security detail, more's the better. (All they'll have to do is flank you and periodically mutter into their wrists as if they were talking into walkie-talkies.)
