Rachel H. Outblush Operative writes: After my Personal Shopper: Iphone 4 Cases for Ahn post, the requests for cases for your various smartphones came rolling in. They went something like this: "Hi Outblush! I have an iDroidberry 1234 and I can't find a cool case for it ANYWHERE. Boohoo." I, Rachel H. went online all by myself, typed "iDroidberry 1234 case" into a reliable search engine, and found tons and tons of cases that were, IMHO, fabulous. WTH? I can only come to the conclusion that none of these cases were good enough for you ladies. What are we to do? Here are some options for getting your sweaty ear against the smartphone case of your dreams:
- Go to http://www.case-mate.com/, select the type of phone you have, and design your own case by choosing colors, selecting from tons of cool art by many talented artists including Nigel Dennis (pictured in B), or uploading your own art or photography to the site. This site won the 14th annual Webbie awards.
- Make your own case. There are plenty of great options if you poke around the net. I found this article, which tells you how to make your own cases out of things like old jeans (pictured in C), juice boxes, your Gameboy, or felt that looks like bacon (pictured in A). Mmm, bacon.
- Have you heard of Decoden (pictured in D)? I hadn't either, until now. Apparently, it's kind of a big deal. It involves squirting silicone rubber all over your phone and sticking as many charms and sparkly things as you can muster all over it. Watch Nessie Neon's Decoden Tutorial and check out the Decoden group on Flickr for inspiration. (Note: Outblush not responsible for any loss of cell phone signal due to a reader gluing Swarovski crystals and googly eyes on their phone's antenna.)
- At Bizrate.com, you can find decals to jazz up a plain black case. Your business logo? Kittens? Rainbows? Maybe a custom "I Heart Outblush" sticker? Up to you!
