We'd be crazy if we didn't mention that some little company named Apple rolled out a slew of new product updates today. Have you heard of iTunes? iPod maybe? Yeah, well, now they have new colors, video cameras, radios, yada yada yada. Right, nothing to see here. Moving on. Just kidding! That really would be crazy. Here's the rundown of all the sparkly new toys:
iTunes 9 (free download): Apple jazzed up iTunes with a new look and a lot of new features, including iTunes LP, which gives you animated lyrics, liner notes, videos and more when you purchase a full album. And now some movie downloads will have bonus features. Hey, it's about time!
And for you iPhone users out there (yes, that's most of us), don't forget to update your software to iPhone OS 3.1.1 to take advantage of all the new iTunes goodies.
iPod nano ($149, 8GB): It's got a video camera! How cool is that? Apple also threw in an FM radio with a live pause feature, built-in mic for voice recording, speaker, Nike+ pedometer, bigger display, and a choice of nine eye-popping colors. Can you say irresistible? Also $179 for 16GB.
iPod shuffle ($59, 2GB): Now available in five glossy colors from hot pink to lime green. They're the gadget equivalent of Jolly Ranchers. You can't just have one. Also $79 for 4GB.
iPod Touch ($199, 8GB): No major changes, except it's cheaper. No complaints here! Also $299 for 32GB and $399 for 64GB.
