GorillaPod Micro
We've always thought Gorillapods were a great idea, but they're usually a bit too bulky to just tote around with us. Joby recently introduced the GorillaPod Micro ($20) which is really ideal for us. This tiny tripod stays attached to the camera, so there's no worrying about losing it to the ether of a purse, and it offers the same stability as a regular tripod, allowing us to set our timer and pose for a pic with our girlfriends without having to worry about our camera tumbling from a precarious perch.
