Tasteful Bites Cake Pops & Cake Truffles
Thanks to bloggers like Bakerella, cake pops are a part of our national dessert lexicon. Thankfully, though, specialty companies like Tasteful Bites ($12-36) are elevating these bite-sized sweets beyond über-saccharine Duncan Hines & Betty Crocker territory. We received a generous package of their Cake Pops this past Monday, and don't mind saying it definitely got us over the start-of-the-week blues. Flavors like Great Balls of Fire (chocolate cake blended with cinnamon, ancho, chimayo & chipotle ganache, coated in milk chocolate), Salty Dawg (vanilla cake blended with caramel buttercream, coated in milk chocolate & sea salt), and Midnight Soiree (chocolate cake blended with orange chocolate ganache, coated in dark chocolate, candied orange peel and gold sugar) are sophisticated and just sweet enough for grown-up palates. A definite must-try for dessert-inclined foodies.
