Usually we reserve the phrase "smuttynose old brown dog" for people we don't like, so it's refreshing to use it for something we actually love. Smuttynose Old Brown Dog Ale ($11 for six) has a classic flavor with a smooth balance of hops and malt. We guess being called smuttynose isn't always such a bad thing after all.
