Purdy's Chocolates
Of course we love chocolate (duh). We like cute chocolate, weird chocolate, expensive chocolate . . . but we looove Purdy's chocolate. Purdy's is one of those great food groups, like Triple O burgers, that Canadians seem to want to keep to themselves. The Himalayan Pink Salt Caramels ($15) are utterly delicious, rich in the middle, salty on top, and sweet throughout, and their dark chocolate Blueberry Almond bars ($8 for 3) almost convince us that this stuff is healthy. And if you want to be a complete tourist, order a bunch of little chocolate maple leaves and totem poles ($13). In Vancouver and Toronto, these purple boxes are everywhere, but those of us stateside can order through their equally purple website. We don't even care about the exchange rate.
