Cherry Cacao Crostini
The Rusitc Bakery's Tart Cherry, Cacao Nib, and Almond Pan Forte Crostini ($7) was so good we almost don't want to tell anyone about because that means less for us. The toast is crisp and light - the tartness of the cherries compliments the sweet chocolatyness of the nibs and the almonds add their own rich flavor. It tightrope walks the line between sweet and savory so well - you could serve it at a party with a mild cheese or heat it for just a few seconds in the microwave and dip it milk for a perfect cold afternoon treat. Or you can forget you read this and we'll continue to gobble up this divine confection in mass quantities all by ourselves.
