Ever since we read Animal, Vegetable, Miracle by Barbara Kingsolver, we've been eager to try our hand at making homemade cheese. Why? We'll know exactly what went into it, how fresh it is, and, well, it just sounds fun! The 30 Minute Mozzarella Cheese Making Kit ($25) promises to have us well on our way to fresh fromage in just a half hour, and includes everything we need except the milk and a large stock pot. Using cow or goat milk, the kit provides instructions and materials to craft up to 30 pounds of mouthwatering mozzarella and ricotta, perfect for fresh lasagna or bruschetta. We're salivating already, and the darned kit is still in the mail!
