The Oldest Living Things in the World

Think about where you were ten years ago today. Doesn't that seem like forever ago? The organisms that photographer Rachel Sussman set out to document have been around something like, oh, 88,000 years. At least that's the case for the colony of aspen she found in Utah. Even the youngest organisms she traveled to see were still 2,000 years old - inconceivable. She did all this work with the help of expert biologists and has published many of her findings, from places across the world from Antarctica to Greenland, in her appropriately titled book, The Oldest Living Things in the World ($31).
