We're always looking for a good book that will make us laugh and keep us on our toes. Jasper Fforde's quirky The Fourth Bear: A Nursery Crime ($10) is one of those books. Curl up on the couch over Thanksgiving and eat up his funny mystery novel. It's way less calories than a pecan pie and 100% more satisfying. Yummm.

This book is amazing, as is "The Big Over-Easy," which comes before it. It's funny, and Fforde reliably weaves intricate and exciting plots. I haven't read a book of his I haven't loved, all from a garage sale find.
