Bill Shapiro has ransacked attics and storage boxes for his timeless compilation of universal human vulnerability and passion, Other People's Love Letters: 150 Letters You Were Never Meant to See ($15). We've all been there - agonizingly torn to bits in love, writing fiery gibberish in hopes that something will become clearer in the madness of an intense relationship. (Our favorite Post Script: "I look forward to your letters too much to call. Also, where do you stand on chains?"). In looking into others' overflowing, confused, and broken hearts we ultimately learn more about ourselves in this aching page turner.
