Anyone remember '90's 'zines? Ah, the good 'ol days of little homemade paper manifestos brimming with righteous zeal for various rights/passions/causes...what happened to those? So maybe they're not as popular as in past decades (could it be due in part to the extreme green initiative? Eh. Maybe.), but they're still as enthusiastic and personal as ever, just in a more updated, reader-enticing way. And in case you've forgotten, they're often chock full of useful information!
So where to go for these nuggets of updated nostalgia? We say check out Microcosm Publishing, an independent publisher and distributor of all kinds of zines, books, stickers, mini-buttons, patches, t-shirts, posters, films, *taking a breath here*, pamphlets, journals, atlases, organizers, manifestos, coloring books, and on and on. the sad reality is that manufacturing computers is far more destructive to the environment than paper ever could be--especially to the third world's drinking water.
