We admit it: we're terrified of having children. It's not the lack of sleep and the college tuitions that have us shaking in our boots: it's their eating habits. We actually like food. But when our nieces and nephews come over, they refuse to put anything into their mouths that isn't brown or yellow. The idea of spending the next ten to twenty years eating macaroni and cheese and chicken nuggets is like something out of a horror movie. That's why we're going to pick up up a copy of French Kids Eat Everything ($21), Karen Le Billon's guide to teaching your children to open themselves up to a broader world of comestibles. Maybe then we can rationally consider giving our mother-in-law those grandchildren she's been pleading for.
