Cranky. Snarky. Goofy. Sullen. Brilliant. Those are just a few of the adjectives we could use to describe the inimitable Bitch magazine, a touchstone of feminist culture since 1996. The new anthology, Bitchfest: Ten Years of Cultural Criticism from the Pages of Bitch Magazine, has a foreword by the fantastic comedienne Margaret Cho and includes some of our favorite pieces from Bitch. Whether or not you call yourself a feminist, you’ll appreciate the essays on how pop culture informs feminism and vice versa.
