Boy, Snow, Bird ($17) is one of those books you end up begging all of your friends to read (buying them copies if need be) just so you have someone to talk about it with. It's a breathtaking, unsettling interpretation of the classic Snow White fairy tale, mixed with themes of 1950s racial tensions, abusive family dynamics, and how far someone will go to fit into a society that doesn't really want them. If you like your novels twisted and just a little bit dark, read this. Trust us.
