Mini Twig Pencils
We've been thinking about pencils recently, and we've realized that a great mystery lies at the heart of these seemingly unremarkable writing implements. Namely: how the hell do they get the graphite into the middle of all that wood? Sure, they could drill a really long, skinny hole, but that stuff is in there tight. And graphite is fragile stuff - so how do they shove it in without it breaking? The physical impossibility of the whole enterprise has us wondering if maybe there isn't actually just a tree somewhere that grows lead-infused branches.
