Architect and artist Paul Raff used Eastern philosophy to structure his awe-inspiring Garden Pavilion ($Inquire). We can see how the small, skeletal cedar building allows beams of light to shine through the open latticed rafters, creating a harmony with its natural surroundings, and the Venetian blind aesthetic isn't dark and dreary. The layout is designed to act as a huge sundial and provides maximum coverage from the blaring summer sun so it always remains light and airy.
