Our whisk is the bane of our kitchen utensil drawer. It seems like it's always getting jammed against the rolling pin or catching on our skewers. That's why we're treating ourselves to this Twist 2-in-1 Silicone Whisk ($10). We're not fancy enough with our cooking to care much about the difference in technique when using a flat versus a balloon-style whisk - but we do know that flat things stand way less of a chance of making it impossible to open up our drawer. If someone can come up with a collapsible potato masher, we'll be set.
