Continuing in the Zen tablescape vein, may we present the Riedel Paloma Decanter? ($340) “Paloma” means “Dove” in Spanish, which suits the graceful, birdlike flowing lines of this wine decanter. Oenophiles will be pleased to know the long cylindrical body provides a good space for young, tannic wines to breathe and their flavors to mature. Because you know we’re all about letting wine rest out of the bottle for the proper amount of time before consumption. Ah, hell, fine, we don’t. We pretty much can drink an entire bottle in one sitting and can barely wait to get it out of the damn bottle. (but only if we’re not driving anywhere later!)
