Originating as a student thesis work at the Industrial Design at the University of Houston, the Recompute Recycled Cardboard Computer ($550) addresses sustainability during manufacturing, usage and disposal stages of its life. No large towers here, the Recompute case is made of corrugated cardboard. Recompute only used three major electronic components: A motherboard with processor and memory, power supply and a hard drive - keeping electronic components to a bare minimum. This computer is ready to rock in three versions: Recompute LNX, Recompute (running Windows 7 Home), and Recompute Plus (a Windows 7 Professional based machine).
