Special Guest Post by Found of You: Vintage Barware

Our guest poster today is one of our very own Outblush Operatives, and we're so happy to hand over the spotlight to let Rachel H tell us what she knows. She's a master at tracking down cool and quirky finds, and you can see some of her garage-sale gems and other sweet steals at her very own blog, Found of You.

You've surely Mad Men-fied your wardrobe by now, so why not take it a step further with vintage inspired barware? Bar glasses in caddies create a great display in your home, and would also be perfect for sipping warm scotch in your cigarette flavored office all day long, a la everyone's favorite new TV show and style inspiration. My tips for finding vintage barware:

1) Peruse your local classifieds for estate sales, not garage sales. "Estate" means someone, usually elderly, has died, and their family is selling their things. Old person = vintage things. Please, make sure to be respectful of the grieving family when you go to buy Grandma's cocktail shaker or Great Aunt Mildred's highball glasses. I found the sets pictured at top and bottom left at estate sales.

2) The Interwebs: EBay! Duh. Also, if you do a search for "vintage barware" a bunch of specialty e-shops will pop up. I found this set (pictured bottom right) at VandM.com.

3) If you don't like the idea of second-hand anything, try to get over it, but until then, you can find brand new vintage fake-outs, like the Roost Toulouse Juice Glasses and Caddy (pictured top right), or if you like the smoke glass set (bottom left), check out the Tambien Smoke Barware at CB2.
