Special Guest Post by dkirkward: Ciao Bella Gelato and Sorbetto

So ladies, we think it's time for a male perspective: What are some of their secret faves (ahem, aside from that) that they'd like to see here on ol' Outblush? We went to one of our favorite tweeters, dkirkward, for the skinny. You can check out his blog, Discoveries of the Unemployed, for more insights into health, wealth, and Diet Coke.

In the interest of full disclosure, I'll let you know that I don’t have a big sweet tooth. I enjoy dessert every now and then, but I’d rather stuff myself full of french fries than get a slice of pie. That may all change though, now that I’ve discovered Ciao Bella Gelato and Sorbetto ($8). Trolling the grocery store aisles last night, I was drawn to the frozen food section, and being that I’m health conscious (to a degree), I gravitated toward the sorbet and frozen yogurt. My eyes were attracted to the artistic packaging of Ciao Bella, so I gave it a closer look and was instantly hooked. Before me sat a treasure trove of interesting flavors: gelatos ranging from Chocolate Jalapeno and Dulce De Leche to Malted Milk Ball and Maple Ginger Snap (oh but there are so many more flavors). While gelato is good, I’m more of a sorbet fan, and Ciao Bella didn’t disappoint. As I perused their sorbet flavors I had a tough time choosing between Blackberry Cabernet, Blood Orange, and Passion Fruit...until I saw the Coconut. I popped open a pint of Coconut after getting home and instantly transported myself back to the poolside I remember in Cabo. And with each serving (four in a pint) coming out to 190 calories, I can still indulge while keeping the pounds away.
