I'm a tad confused about what kind of date to describe, so I'll describe both the romantic kind and just a date on a calendar.
My favorite date is one that is active and involves opportunities for diverse experiences. For example, I once went on a walking ghost tour of the city of San Antonio with a guy. There were other people on the tour, so we could interact with them, and we spent an hour walking through the damp streets at night. It was lovely!
My favorite date on the calendar (yes, I do have one) is March 4th because it is the only day that is also a sentence :-)

Like Celeste, I'm not sure which favorite date to describe! My favorite romantic date is (stereotypical, I know) dinner and a movie, just as long as there is wine flowing at dinner and plenty of opportunity for snuggles in the dark at the theater!

My favorite date would be my first date with my now-husband. We were in college and basically broke, but C scored free movie tickets! He thought it would be a great idea to see the premier of Atonement (READ: AWKWARD AWKWARD FIRST DATE FILM WATCHING EXPERIENCE) only to find when we arrived at the register that he'd forgot the tickets in the car...far far away. I held our place while he literally ran to retrieve said tickets. The awkwardness of the movie was somewhat overcome when, after, he treated me to my first ever Chipotle burrito. Bro, girls are not supposed to be expected to eat on a first date! We nibble. Well, we had endured so much awkwardness that all means of girly cuteness were thrown out the window and I devoured said burrito - most of it ;)
Oh, and did I mention that he introduced me to Outblush - my now-daily fix??? <3

My favorite date is my birthday - May 27th - the one day of the year that I can reasonably expect the world to revolve around me. ;) For the last 5 years, my b-day has also involved a date with my now-hubby. He threw me a first annual 29th birthday party just a couple months after we met, and has been raising the bar each year! He even got me out of a turning-30 funk and convinced me to put on something pretty and go out with him! He is the one who introduced me to Outblush, so I have him to thank for all the great gift ideas (both for others and for myself!) I've found here over the years!

My favourite date was actually my first date with my husband back 10 years ago. We went to NY with a group of friends and spent the whole day just doing tourist stuff. It was the most fun I ever had and knew he was someone special in my life. So now every year, we go to NY to celebrate our marriage. He is my best friend and my soul mate. I am a very lucky girl.

My favorite date (in both senses of the word) is Valentine's day. I know it's cheesy and "hallmark" but I love that the whole point of the day is to show your special someone you're still hot for them. My husband and I always plan something nice whether it's a fancy dinner date or a simple night in.
If, by chance, you meant the fruit type of date, I prefer golden dates.
