A WINNER HAS BEEN CHOSEN - Back to School Planner Giveaway with Blue Sky and Poketo

Like it or not, the back-to-school season is creeping up. And if you're like us, your planner from January is unkempt or has simply evaporated. But Blue Sky has joined forces with hip L.A. shop and gallery Poketo to put out a line of cheerful planners that run from July 2013 through June 2014 - perfect for organizing your school year from beginning to end! And this week at Outblush, you get the chance to win a fresh new 5"x8" Chevron Weekly/Monthly Planner for the academic year.

Whether or not you're still in school, we think you'll find this planner handy. And whether or not you're still in school, it probably seeps into your subconscious in the form of a weird dream - I, Mitchy, haven't been in school for a few years now, but I still have nightmares about forgetting to drop a class, or recurring dreams in which the bathroom stalls in the girls' locker room don't have any doors. So if you'd like to enter the giveaway, we ask that you comment on this post with an answer to the following:

Describe the weirdest dream (or nightmare) you've had about school.

-----------------------------------------

One entry per person, please. Deadline to enter is Tuesday, August 20, 2013 at 12:00pm PST. Winners will be chosen at random and posted on Outblush the same day.

Well I've had plenty of the prototypical neurotic dreams where I enter class only to learn that I have completely forgotten a major exam or assignment. Ina slightly stranger note, I once dreamt that an intense school wide game of capture the flag was held in my elementary school. My team crushed the other when I literally took flight and snagged our flag from atop the lockers.

The weirdest dream that I've had about school has to be the one where I was running through the halls dodging all my professors who I happened to owe assignments to. After escaping them, I ran out the school doors and fell into a mosh pit of all my classmates. The dream finally ended with me being serenaded on stage by Robin Thick <3

The weirdest dream I had about school was the one in which I was floating in outer space with my Spanish teacher sitting on a cloudlett conjugating future tense er verbs and my Math teacher was drawing equations on a lighted board that was flashing and spinning. The dream ended as I started to spin and fall back to earth at top speed only to land feet first in the middle of the school yard at around midnight. No one was there and the wind was blowing the flag at the of the pole. I could hear the wind blowing and see a squirrel run across the power line with potato chip in his mouth. I looked up and the principal was looking at me from the window located on the second floor.

A couple of nights ago I had a dream that my high school math teacher was now teaching my college chem class (which is over btw). He distributed new lab manuals to everyone but me, so when he collected all of our labs I failed. And then I was chased my a giant evil shark who had been swimming in my beaker. weird.

Once, I had a dream that I was a sacrificial offering during the height of the Incan empire. Instead of dying during the sacrifice, my body rose to the sky into a floating house. From there, I was suspended in the corner near the ceiling, cradled inside an eagle's nest. That eagle appeared out of no where and chased me out of the house and out a window. This was not a flying dream so I can only assume I died upon waking up.

I realize this is not school related. But I wrote a piece on it in college and received high marks. So there is that.

I once had a dream that the floor of my classroom dropped away and the entire class began to flood. Clutching to my desk I hoped it would float to the surface (I mean, it is made out of wood... right?) but I had no luck. The classroom filled to the ceiling with water, I took my last breath of air and swam towards the opening in the floor. Swimming out from the submerged foundation of the building I was now in a immense sea, filled with sea animals. I grabbed on to a dolphin's fin and kicked as hard as I could towards the surface. Just seconds away from my next breath of oxygen I woke up gasping for breath. It seems I was holding my breath in my sleep.

I have a recurring dream that I'm back in school, in the hallway, class is in session and I need to get to class before I'm caught "skipping." Except I'm 31 yrs old and have no idea what class I'm supposed to be in so I spend hours just ducking and hiding and going in and out of other classes trying to blend in. The details are innocuous, but the anxiety is ridiculously high.

Although this is not a dream about school it is rather funny....One night I had a dream that my alarm went off for school. I got up, showered, brushed my teeth, fixed my hair. Put my clothes on. That was until my sister woke from the commotion and proceeded to tell me it was 3 am and I was sleep walking! I guess I really wanted to get a jump start on the day.

I had a really weird dream about school the other night. I was hanging out in front of my old middle school (I'm 32 btw) with one of my old bosses and one of my high school crushes. My boss was sharing a cigarette with me while she was laying down on the cement that covered the walkway leading to the front doors. She was yammering on about how the purple color of her bag was just not right. My crush was just standing there staring, almost like he was observing us. I was standing there watching them like a tennis match while feverishly smoking the cigarette. So weird!

I've been having a recurring dream for over five years now! The situation is always different but the theme is always the same:

Apparently I've been skipping Math and History class all semester (Which is crazy because while I'd sooner tattoo an ice cream cone on my cheek than go to Math, I freaking LOVED history. The Oregon Trail ruled so hard.)Anyway, I end up freaking out about finally going to these classes and the room is always in some weird, random location in relation to the rest of the campus. (Think Hagrid's Hut to Howgwarts)I usually have to walk across a rickety bridge or hike up never ending steps at my old middle school. These dreams started once I graduated so maybe they're trying to tell me something? (Drink more wine before bed is the message I've chosen to take away)

It's always the same nightmare. I completely forget that I'm taking a class only to realize it on the last day of school for final exams. I realize I don't know anything about the class and that I'm going to fail.

I have had this dream every few months since college, which is crazy, because I never had any problems keeping on top of everything.

I'm a school teacher, so a school-related nightmare usually consists of me not being prepared for school. This includes arriving to school naked.

I have a dream where I return to school for a reunion and I am a spy/assassin... think Grosse Pointe Blank. While it would be cool if I was a spy, it reminds me of all the awkward encounters that might happen if I threw myself in a room with everyone I knew from high school. It's not really a nightmare, but it's certainly a unpleasant dream!
