You Be the Stylist: What should Tiffany wear to her friend's wedding next month?

Sometimes, we get a Personal Shopper request that gets us so intrigued, we find it impossible to narrow down our options. We decided, therefore, that our beloved readers should help, since you're all as fashion-obsessed as we are. Introducing.... YOU Be the Stylist: We're faced with a reader who can't decide what to pair with a piece of clothing they've purchased. Neither can we. We'll let you vote.

Tiffany R. wrote, Hello, Outblush! I am in a bit of a pickle. And yes, it's to do with attending a wedding! Which is coming up in October! One of my oldest and dearest friends is getting married, but my invitation was lost in the mail, so I didn't find out until today that the wedding was moved up from Feb 2011 to late Oct 2010. Eek! The wedding events aren't super-fancy (after the ceremony, which as far as I know is still being held in a train museum, we're hanging out in a very nice beer garden), but I live in jeans, tennis shoes and T-shirts/casual blouses, so from my perspective I have to dress up quite a bit. Nothing I own right now will do. To make things more difficult:
1. I am not a dress gal. So nice pants and a lovely blouse for me! I like having some short sleeves, but am willing to use a cardigan or something. I love wearing color.
2. I wear a 22-24-ish top and 26ish bottom.
3. I have large wide feet - generally l11W or 12W - and I'm unused to any heel (I'm almost 5'11").
4. I have a tiny budget - $100-150ish. [If I had known sooner that the wedding had been moved up...! Alas.]
Can you help me look fabulous for my best friend's wedding, Outblush? Thank you!"

All of these are beautiful outfits! Being a plus size gal myself, I have to warn you about the "cheap" brands out there, where the clothes look alright and are a great price, but fit terribly and are basically junk. I've gone into this pitfall many, many times. The brands I'm referring to are One Stop Plus, Woman Within, Catherines, Avenue, Silhoutte, Jessica London, Chadwicks. You really do get what you pay for. Also, check out Old Navy. Great up-to-date pieces that, more often than not, are very affordable.

Wow! You guys rock!

I love the shirt from Option 1, but hate the shoes. I'm also quite partial to Option 3's unusual eggplanty purple blouse - that's not a color I often see in clothes. So torn!

Now that you've got an idea of what's out there, you may consider checking to see if there's a boutique in your area that carries larger sizes. I've been fortunate that there's a great shop in my town that carries "designer" clothing. You might pay a bit more, but you'd be getting better quality, and building a relationship with a local retailer who will let you try before you buy, recognizes how these garments should fit, and will learn what your preferences are, rather than using an e-tailer and having to ship back and forth if something doesn't fit right. The shop I go to has a website, if you'd like a recommendation.

None of the above.
