Not Especially "Terrifying Sea Critter"
Hey, we're journalists. (Kinda.) We understand the pressures of a slow news day. Kinda. But we couldn't help rolling our eyes at some of the lines getting tossed around regarding a certain creature that came up atop a submarine recently. You see, the "terrifying sea critter" (Fox News) was an isopod, and an isopod is a roly-poly. A big one, but still, the "beast" that "has left many readers startled and horrified" is a roly-poly. If you're not, well, you're not alone: Y! buzz says that sharks are "downright cuddly compared to the Bathynomus giganteus" - AKA the marine roly-poly.
