Kork-Ease sounds like a fake company from The Simpsons or like a gag gift company name, but no. In fact, Kork-Ease are purveyors of the very first cork-soled wedge, created in 1953. Wow, another formerly uncool brand transforming themselves into a "heritage brand" - it's the story of our time! Anyway, we're glad they're back on the radar - these Ava Platform Wedges ($140) look a lot like those wooden clogs that came back in fashion several years ago, but they're considerably less expensive thanks to that signature cork sole, which is probably much cheaper to produce than solid wood.
