Aspire/Acquire Spring Spectacular: Flare Trousers

Punxsutawney Phil, you stinkin' liar. 'no six weeks of winter', our sweet ass. We love hot chocolate and warm sweaters and curling up by the fire with our honey as much as the next girl, but it's getting old FAST. We are so ready for spring! With that in mind, we're counting down the days until March 21st, the official first day of spring, with some fabulous Aspire/Acquire posts featuring ideas for spring fashion and frolicking. Bring on the warm weather!

Mid-waist flares and wide leg trousers are making a big comeback this season and we fully intend to stock up. The long leg line makes up feel like we have lean, graceful stems and are pretty much our favorite style to wear to work. We're happy to leave lined, wool pants behind us for a good long time and are eager for lighter fabrics. The aspire specimen is the Stacy Flare Pant by Alive+Olivia and we love the smooth look of the linen/cotton blend, but while we like them, $253 is a hefty price tag. Enter our acquire choice - Drew Graphite Flare Pants from The Limited ($70). They'll look phenom with your favorite pair of heels and their fabric is wrinkle free, which the lazy side of us totally celebrates.

And, as always, if you've got something you love that's out of your reach, email us and we'll find you some more budget-friendly lookalikes for a future Aspire/Acquire feature!

I prefer the look of the Limited pants. The light gray of the Alive+Olivia is kind of hard to wear.

I believe OB got the pictures backwards. The light gray pants are from The Limited. The olive pants are from Alive+Olivia. Thank goodness though. I like the gray ones WAY better.

Well, that explains a lot. I thought the gray ones looked kinda chintzy. I'd continue to aspire.

These are super cute but I can't afford either. I just got a new job that requires Khaki pants, any chance you guys could do a guide for Khakis under $50? I think the last time I ever wore some were ten years ago. It's so hard finding short ones that are actually cute on a petite body.

Old Navy has a petite collection (only available online. They may have something.
