When we first saw this Library for the Neck ($350) we immediately thought what a sweet piece it would be for a librarian. But then we realized we didn't know any librarians young hip enough for jewelry like this. We're keeping it mind for when our friend graduates with her English degree.
Editors note: It seems this post came off a bit offensive, and I'd like to apologize to the lovely librarians of the world. I certainly meant no offense. I just meant, I personally don't know any cool librarians...yet. Let's be friends and we can change that! Also, look for a special hip librarians piece comin' soon - cause we think you're rad!

Um... your post is a bit ignorant. I have been reading Outblush for years and am a shopping/vintage/fashion addict and also a ... GASP... YOUNG LIBRARIAN! Librarians are pretty hip. Just sayin. How about stepping into a library these days to find out...
Jenny
Ditto Jacqui's post! Librarian and Outblush reader here, too! There are many kinds of librarians - and not all are the shushing kind who work in your local public library!
Sarah
Another librarian here. And one who's likely an Outblush ex-reader if there's no apology posted for this ill-informed, outdated stereotype.
Angie
Count me in as another radical militant young fashionable annoyed Librarian.
I agree with Sarah, an apology is in order to your Librarian Outblush followers. I love Outblush, but you guys kind of hurt my feelings.
P.S. See this http://www.nytimes.com/2007/07/08/fashion/08librarian.html
P.P.S. Just for the record, I'm a public Librarian who has NEVER shushed anyone.
P.P.P.S. That necklace is all kinds of ugly and belongs in Doubtblush.

To be fair, they did say that they didn't *know* any librarians who would wear this - not that there aren't any out there. I, on the other hand, know one particularly lovely librarian who would totally rock this look! :)

To the lovely librarians of the world: I'm terribly sorry. Admittedly, my impression of librarians was formed at a young age when I viewed librarians as nice, helpful women (and men) who weren't wearing funky statement jewelry. I certainly meant no offense. I just meant, I personally don't know any cool librarians...yet. Let's be friends and we can change that!
