Not only are these Phoenix Earrings ($38) far more interesting than the plain hoops we wear on a regular basis, they're also made from recycled sterling silver. It's like these new earrings have risen from the ashes of old silver jewelry, ascending above the flames which are symbolized in the detail at the bottom of these hoops. Or maybe we're reading too much into it... they're just pretty, guys.

Speaking as an, ahem, silver jeweler, I'd like to say that most, 75 - 85% silver jewelry is made with recycled silver. All jewelers send in their scrap, old silver to be refined and turned into......more silver to make jewelry with! This practice is certainly ecological and also makes money sense - and has been done forever, so to speak.
Advertising your jewelry as made from recycled silver is true but it's till greenwashing.
