We're ending our summer with one last burst of color. Mad Import's Carmen Clutch ($60) is not only a stylish little handbag, but you'll also have a fantastic story to tell people when they ask you about it! Mad Imports began in 2003 with Laurel Brandstetter whose family had a development organization based in Madagascar. Her company focuses on training and working with artisan groups in Madagascar and Kenya, using local resources to create contemporary designs. What's so cool about the Opal Clutch is that it's traditionally hand-woven from raffia, a plant-fiber, that just so happens to look absolutely beautiful when dyed.
