It would take a woman with some ovarian fortitude to wear bright red across a body part that many of us would like to hide, but we think this Monif C. Emme Ponte Knit Arrow Dress ($208) in its navy blue and siren red incarnation would be pretty head turning on the right gal, in the right place, at the right time. The black and white version would be very flattering on just about anyone, but it might be a good idea to pass on the red wine in this one if you're a klutz like us. Either way you go, it's a bold statement for a bold lady.

Oooo I don't like that. It makes me look right at her stomach...

I think the white one really works, is slimming, flattering, etc., but the red bit on the blue one makes her look wide! And depressingly unaware of dressing for body type!

When I first looked at the blue one I wondered why the model was wearing a fat suit! Definitely not flattering. The white one looks fine though.

Hmmm, I don't think there would be a right place or time for the red one. It draws your attention to all the wrong places. Yuck!

The red one shouldn't be a plus sized dress. It would look fine on someone slender. I'm plus size and I'd definitely wear the black and white one, which looks really flattering! The red and navy one might look better if the color placement was reversed.

While I agree that the red and blue one may not be the most flattering dress, Monif C clothing is not for plus size women eager to hide their bodies. It's fashion for feeling bold, beautiful, and confident. The last thing on your mind when you're wearing Monif C is "does this make me look fat?" It's "I cannot wait to walk out in this!" I'm not a "only big girls are beautiful" preacher, but when I see a plus size woman wearing something bold, I think "You go, girl!" not "what was she thinking?" I also think the same way when I see stick figure gals wearing skinny jeans. Wear whatever you want to wear. Especially if it looks as fabulous as Monif C's clothes!
One Ring to Rule Them All
I was thinking pretty much the same thing when I saw this posted. Like, "she looks gorgeous, and she looks like the kind of gal that I'd want to go up to at a party." Then I second guessed my style instincts cuz sometimes I can get out of hand with colors or skirts. Thanks for bringing me back to reality, Mando!
Found of You
Right on, Mando! I posted this, and although I'm not a plus size gal, I think both of these dresses are fabulous and I'd love to see them on a confident, sassy woman.
